Day 8

Isaiah 40:29-31

He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.

How good is God?! Isaiah 40 holds beautiful promises and encouragements. How comforting is it to know that when we’re weary – worn out, burned out, exhausted – God will give us strength. He gives power to the weak and renews our strength when we stumble and fall.

Hoping in the Lord is so much more than a watered down ‘wishing’ something would happen. Did you know that hope means, having faith, being expectant something will happen and trusting that it will? And when we place our faith, expectancy and trust in the God of the universe he provides for us so lovingly, so beautifully, so abundantly. He doesn’t just pick us up and dust us off to try again, he lets us soar!

When an eagle soars it doesn’t rely on it’s own strength to stay in the sky, it rests on the wind, gliding up to 10,000 feet above the earth in complete confidence. God allows us to soar in situations that seem wildly out of our depth sometimes, but remember, you’re resting not on your own strength but in His and you can have complete hope, trust, and confidence in him to provide.

P.s. Allow yourself to soar – don’t be afraid to leap into that new adventure when he prompts you to jump. He will always provide.
