My Lighthouse… Ogugu shines in the darkness.
A lighthouse is something you expect to find on the coast, surrounded by lashing waves, spilling out a pathway of light in the darkness, warning travellers of the rocks. That’s why it was the last thing I expected to find in a Nigerian town called Ogugu. This lighthouse isn’t the conventional shape, it’s run on a generator and the only water by it is pumped from a nearby borehole, but in my eyes it’s still a lighthouse. Continue reading

BLOG TAKEOVER #HopeMk day 5: It’s not the end!
Philippians 1:6 ‘I am certain that God, who began a good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.’
I have no doubt that today will be another EPIC day filled with fun! Yes fun! Look back on your week? Who said Gods work has to be boring huh? Although today marks the end of an awe inspiring, life changing, city transforming week the journey does not stop here! This is just the beginning, the kick start we need to be the change we want to see in our city!
Well done guys! You are phenomenal, fantastic, awesome, breathtaking, courageous, faithful and fabulous. You have loved our city in outrageous ways this week! Let’s continue it and keep Hope alive throughout our lives.
Love, encourage, inspire, live and recognise what God is doing in and through your life! It’s AWEsome.
Prayer Please – More of the same
I’m sure by this point I’ve been able to find some Internet to update you with some more particular prayer requests but please continue to pray for more of the same!
– That I would continue to pursue what God would have me do
– For protection, safety and street smarts!
– For the kids and teachers of the project, that the kids would learn and the teachers would be re-energised and continue to share their creativity and passion.
– Pray that I’ll continue to be close to God, that I’d be fed spiritually and draw closer to him day by day.
– That I would be prepared for every eventuality, bible study, prayer meeting, church service, with a sermon or talk tucked in my pocket ready to be shared at the drop of a hat!
– Pray for the health of all of us! Protection from all the nasty germs out there!
**** please pray for my upcoming trip south to visit the girls I did my training with!****
Praying that God finds you in this day, warms your heart, protects you and keeps you and blesses you beyond measure. Much love C x
BLOG TAKEOVER #HopeMk day 4: #ThankfulThursday
1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
The week is flying! It seems a lifetime since Monday and you’re well and truly getting stuck into your project! Today is a good day, if you haven’t already, to step out and encourage those around you. Let’s call it ‘thankful Thursday’ a day to build each other up in love and to remember those who are serving you so that you can serve.
That’s it, short and sweet. #thankfulThursday
BLOG TAKEOVER #HopeMK day 3: PUSH!
Hebrews 10:36 ‘Patient endurance is what you need now so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.’
Day three, have you hit the wall yet? Are you yawning your way through breakfast and promising yourself a mid morning nap? …. Hold on tight because today, like any other day, will be incredible and you need those eyes open to witness it! God has the plan, He’s given you the power, now we need to PUSH past that wall of tiredness.
Remember last year? Who could have known on Wednesday what would be happening by Friday?! Keep on going! Be expectant, keep trekking, pray until something happens! (Push!)
BLOG TAKEOVER #HopeMk Day 2: Our actions are Powerful
Isaiah 41:10 says: ‘Don’t be afraid for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged for I am your God! I will strengthen and help you, I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.’
Do not underestimate the power you have to change someone’s life. A smile of encouragement, a hug, a kind word, a kind action can make more difference than you could imagine. Sometimes all it takes is twenty seconds of courage, to risk looking silly or being rejected to change someone’s life. So as Isaiah 41 says don’t be afraid! God’s got this! He’s there to help and in the times we will inevitably face plant, he picks us up, dusts us off and gives us the strength to keep going!
BLOG TAKEOVER #HopeMK Day 1: Here’s the plan
Jeremiah 29 that says ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a HOPE.’
Whatever happens this week know that God has the plan. Expect great things! Whenever God calls us to the mission field he equips us for the journey. You have access to some fantastic speakers, some great projects to get stuck into and I’m sure some fabulous food is being prepared as I write. This week has been planned physically by some amazing people but know this, God has set up some divine appointments for each and every one of you this week. There’s a plan for you to meet, share, be kind to, and show Gods love in a way that only you can. So keep your eyes and ears open and be fearless. God has the plan and it turns out great!
